Sorry, don't recognize the lake but..... Is it Dog Lake?
I've heard a lot about how good the lake is but have never been able to find it. 5-2 is a big area and Dog is the only Lake I can think of.

No it's not Dog lake, which I've never found neither. One sentence of mine previously contains 2 subtle hints......................

Come the end of the weekend I'll provide some not so subtle clues if it is not guessed.

Man that WMU 5-2 is a large area and must have well over 50 Rec Sites ( much better than Wayne's area with only 2!! ). My guess and I stress guess to start the weekend is Jackson Hole. If I come up with a better guess I'll add it as well.

Well guess #2 is Valentine Lake. If it is you'll need to advise where the corner is as last time I fished there ( 2009 ) I was skunked.

You are correct Larry.

I've had slow days on Valentine, but over the last 20 plus years have learnt a little on how to coax fish out of it even during the down time: snail patterns, nothing but fat black, or dark green, course sparkle chenille with a simple tinsel back, or belly, fished slowly in where ever the sounder shows some fish works when no ones camping on the lake or catching fish. If the fish are coming on the shallows, like they were last month, the right fly is extremely successfully. In the past it was light green chironomids set a foot off bottom in the bay, this time it was sparkly nymph patterns cast towards cruising fishing in the far east corner of the lake, near the incoming stream. They don't fight as much as some other lakes in the region, but we've pulled a few 4 lbs plus fish out of it.

Weird, but a similar fly without the hackle and a fat silver tinsel shell back, works during the down times. Only on Valentine in my experience.

Your turn.

Cheers,
Kevin

That is one very interesting looking fly. It's easy to tell you didn't get it from a fly shop ( quality and design ) . I was looking @ some old pictures of Valentine and I think you may know where this picture is taken from. I'll add a new Site later today that hopefully will be easy to guess.

Guys
That didn't look like the same lake I fished. Although with a June snowstorm blowing himicane force I guess no lake looks the same.

I don't think of 2009 as an old picture. Here's a picture from the same spot I think, even older from 2007.

Wayne, Valentine looks different these last couple of years as all the Pine Beetle kill has been removed.

I thought I'd try a new area for this turn. WMU 8-14. Anyone who has been to this canyon will surely be able to identify it. Nice place to camp, swim or fish!

That looks like one of those pools where the wild and free spirited girl flings her clothes off and dives in, only to be dragged down screaming into the abyss by some monstrous creature of the deep. Dah-dunt....

Falco.

This Canyon should have been a snap! First clue is the river flowing through it is part of the name of a once famous BC Railway! Now it's tooooooooooo easy!!

How about Kettle Canyon? Don't know if that's East or West...

Good guess Wayne. I thought you would get it without the hint! This is the sign near the road. Your turn! No east or west.
