PD4W gas model to diesel
Hello All,
I am just wondering if the drive train and exterior are the same as the 2.8 diesel? Other then the hood.
Thanks,
Russell

Re: PD4W gas model to diesel
The reason I am wondering is there is a Delica PD4W at autopac auction next week in Winnipeg. If this was a diesel L400 I would be all over this but I don't really need a gas parts van. Apparently after talking to Manitoba public insurance all RHDs are irrepairable when they get written off. This one has a few windows smashed out from jerk vandals.

Don't even think about it. Good vehicle before it was written off but unless you know the vehicle well it's a crap shoot at best.

Re: PD4W gas model to diesel
yeah but if no one bids on it and it sells for scrap which I think is $400, for a fully functioning delica minus a few windows. I don't need a gas engine but if the drive line is all the same and interior is all the same that would be worth it for the spares.

If it's at the point for going cheap and you have storage area go for it. I'm sure you could part it out to at least cover $400

I have parted out a westy before and found that you can make a fortune parting out all the little plastic bits and bobs from an interior of a vehicle to more than make up your purchase price. I bought the westy for $500 and ended up making $3000- and I could have made more if I didn't get bored!

Re: PD4W gas model to diesel
the PD4W drive train is diff, its a 2.4liter engine.
transmission is almost same as L300, not like L400 diesel which is big.
only good ofr that is the glass or door and other parts.
like engine but drive train diff than L400 diesel

If the drive train is different its not really worth it to me. I really wanted to get a spare tranny and diff. I could probably squeeze it in my back yard.

Re: PD4W gas model to diesel
So after talking directly to MPI and asking why the ad said it was a diesel when its clearly a gas, they also politey informed me that ALL RHDs that are written off are irreparable. So unless some other delica enthusist is all over this I am probably gonna buy it.

Re: PD4W gas model to diesel
Went over my budget... oh well after looking at it it wasn't in the greatest of shape anyways and was a total base model. It looks like whoever smashed out the glass used an axe. there was some weird cut marks in the rear hatch.
