Mister Duncon, you surpass yourself. That last pic looks like all five of you belong to the same band. So the white snow board with the black bindings belongs to the Starwagon, right? Way cool ~ colour co-ordination, now that is style!

Falco.

I did too much. Rather I learned a lot.
I went 4 wheeling out at the Stave Lake mud flats to see what the deli could do. After crossing a stream and building some confidence I promptly got her front end stuck. deep. Luckily the place is filled with trucks and people with ropes for just such occasions...
One guy attached the rope to my wee rear bumper and ripped it clean off - which is o.k. as it was pretty rusty anyway.

i don't think I'll be returning to the mudflats though. Not really my scene. I'm more of a "lets take this thing to a sweet camping spot" kinda girl i guess... I love my vehicle too much to just go out and get her stuck for the sake of getting her stuck!
Now to find a good place to clean her- inside and out!
*always close your windows when you're stuck in the mud if you don't want said mud all over your interior.*

Glad you got out safe. Lucky there were people there to help you.

99% of the folk that roam there are the types who will pillage and burn your L300 if you left it there overnight. It happens. A lot.

This spring/summer, like the past few years, there will be plenty of deli-style road trip/offroading/camping excursions in our neck of the woods to make you feel as comfortable as you can while having fun. :M

Clean the rad. Like push gallons and gallons of water through it from front and back. It will cost you 15+ minutes of pressure washer time.

Also don't be another Stave Lake Idiot.

what did you do WITH your delica today

Post by lettereleven »

Last weekend attempted to drive to Gun Lake via Duffy lake road. Snow storm was intense, and despite new tires and a very cautious driver (me), managed to lose control, do a few wild fishtails, nearly sliding off the edge, finally coming to rest facing the opposite direction on the wrong side of the road.

On the bright side, my 4 year old said "wheee that was fun! Can we do it again daddy?".

On the downside, my wife did not feel the same way. And now there is a weird, intermittent squeak coming from the rear driver side wheel (the one that whacked to snow drift).

Perhaps I will put the chains on earlier next time. Yup they were in the van.

After a week or so of really nice spring weather I awoke to this today:

About 15 cm so far and no signs of letting up. Damn you mother nature! Stop teasing us. Just for saying that now she will be spiteful and drop another load on us around May long weekend. That's how she rolls. :-)

So today I brushed it off.

At my number one garden I used my bus to pull an old Douglas fir stump across a lawn and off to the side. The tree fell a few years ago so was getting rotten and I was able to dig and chop it free of the earth without too much trouble, but it was still waaaay to big and heavy for me to move by hand so out with my old retired caving rope come tow rope. A few wraps around that old stump and a tie-off to the tow spots under the front of the bus and that was that. Happy to get that project done, finally...
