VHF is the black one
The cb is the yellow one
I just didn't attach the handset for the pic
They are in the center console
I might replace the console with a desktop bc box and put all the electronics into it AND have the PC running!!!
I take it you're a HAM?
You must propagate more of your frequency. QSY Radio Communications forum under Delica Canada Technical. What issue is you VHF? Charlie Quebec.

Had to fixed the Front Sunroof Window after having almost lost it on the highway and got me scary for a few seconds.... The 2 front scews probably got loosen one after the other and then the sunroof opened the wrong way.....Had to drive a few km with one hand on the steering and the other one holding the glass  Later put temporary screws waiting for new one to come in 8-) Advice: check yours once in a while :-D

Sound Insulation

Post by Morganizer »

I put sound insulation foam on the front wheel wells, and in the foot wells. I did the rear wheel wells and the floor in the back previously, and it made such a difference I finally got around to doing the front.

I did this two Saturdays ago, and waited to post this til I took it on the highway, because that's the real test. The real indicator of how much quieter it is, was when I turned on the radio, and the volume was much louder than it needed to be. How's that for a before-and-after?

The foam I'm using is about 3mm, closed cell foam. Comes in a roll. I applied it with water-based contact cement. That stuff takes 30-40minutes to tack up, but I just worked it in sections, cut the next piece while waiting for the glue to dry.

(I suppose if it rolls and catches fire, I'll have molten foam dripping on me. But I mostly try not to drive that way.)

I've got another post on here about doing the back...

I might also do the insides of the door panels. I have to get in there at some point to deal with jumpy locks.

REPLACING MY GLOW PLUGS

The local Lordco sold me the Wrong Plugs NGK 2161 Y-116R1 for a 98 l400 4M40 turbo diesel manual transmission.
I didnt know any better so I installed them. OOPS

I now have a reliable and experienced local DELICA mechanic - Okanagan BC - that has connected me to the Right Parts. NGK 90066 CZ256.

Dont do this to your Deli

Today I had a quick lunch some time before going back to work so I fixed the electric side step. With plenty of lube and by resetting by going to the max and min position with the big screw that is conected to the electric engine . It now works like a charm. Back from work I fixed the driver door little sensor it was giving wrong indications. I had no cabin light when I was opening the door and no indication if I let the lights on. Not a big deal but annoying. Went to the post office my north shore bike rack was there . Assembled it and no it's on !
Not to bad of a day !

Well, I've changed my wiper blades. Funny how it happens, one moment they are working fine then the next they are stuttering across the windscreen. I haven't checked my log book for the price I last paid but I'm pretty sure last time I paid around $20 for a pair. This time I paid $18 for one. Thirty-six bucks later I have clear vision! Now I'm going to go back to the garage and change my oil, rotate my tyres and grease all ten nipples.

Finally made myself a binnacle for my boost gauge and EGT. I have a CNC machine at work and used an aluminum composite panel. I glued it together today and dry fit the gauges. Gonna paint it matte black tomorrow. The plan is to mount it on top of the instrument cluster. I'll update again this week (hopefully).

30 mpg usa gallon, 36mpg imperial gallon. 8.1 litres per 100 kilometers. I do not understand how I am getting this kind of mileage in my 1997 gas engined 3litre space gear. I have done four mileage checks, total kilometers divided by total litres used. This is based on driving throughout the B.C. interior. Lots of hills and curvy roads getting to remote lakes and such. They all come out about the same. Maybe it was re-tuned somehow in Japan before I imported it.
What does anyone think? Or what does anyone know?
I know it sounds odd but really this is true.
Happy trails
