How do you like the AT/3s? how are they in the deep snow/ ice? We get a lot of that around here. also what size are you running? ive got a 2.5" lift so i theoretically should clear 30" tires.

I need to get new tires very soon as i have really crappy P rated winter tires that ive run for a whole year now

I also scored a set of stock 16" toyota steel rims, that came off my buddies montero, so I might look at 16" options as well

EDIT: I was sent this helpful link for those of us who are metric tire illiterate: http://www.thefosterfamily.org/4x4/tires.html

Based on that I may try a set of 245/75R16s Thoughts?

Tires

Post by Firesong »

I ran 30's on a stock l300 and have them now on a stock l400. I put them on a bit ago and we still had ice and snow. They are surprising me considerably with traction on the white stuff. (Reason being the winter tires came off the van im selling and put the geolanders from the l400 on the l300. 30's now on the l400) - sounds confusing but they are good. Hood In mud and dirt off roading, fishing etc they worked very well for my needs.
They have them in 6 ply and 8 ply.
Road noise is minor and handle good on the pavement as well.

I have a 2" lift and am running 31's, I've even seen 32.5's on a 2" lift, but they were a much narrower tire.

I run Hakkas on two of my three RHDs and they are also on my company vehicle. Best winter tire I have had (and I have had a lot). And at $190 for 15 in. bloody cheap. I live and work in the Rockies, so snow + ice + hills = better get the best.
