Yes, you do have active moderators. I think there's a painter, a sailor, a Russian golfer, and guy named after a cat.

Don't really follow these things very well at all anymore, and I've been called a casual moderator. See I meet all the original mods and founder, but haven't the pleasure to meet the new kids. It is being addressed, that is to correctly name your hard working mods, it is just going at a good ol' Delica pace.

Who watches Top Gear here? Obviously the best car show in the world, and is it not 3 guys taking a piss outta each other? Does it not still work after 17 season?

Kevin, you really got a wvo powered tuk tuk???

Being a moderator isn`t as easy as some might think and my praise to Falco for devoting his time to this forum. It saddens me when people point their fingers at our mederators especially when it`s almost a one man show. And it`s not because of a Dictator`s attitude but most likely because no one else is there to help out so don`t blame the guy for doing what he thinks best. To make a better community we`d need more diverse opinion minded moderators... anyone?

I personally don`t have time to become a moderator but will continue to provide feedback as to what I think can benefit this community. I could go on about the initial post but what it revealed is a need for improvement. Some decisions will have to be made that won`t make everyone happy but if you don`t come to the party don`t complain about what will happen down the road...

I too have made some of my best friends on this forum...

Cheers,

I am not pointing the finger at the moderators...I just have no idea if anyone is really moderating the site? The only moderator I know is not active on the site?

I just suggesting it is time to get some new moderators/(edit) administrators as some of the moderators have moved on to new things.

And if it is really "a one man show" then why has the one man not found some new men and women to help out?

edit: If this is truly a "one man show" then I would suggest this might be the root of the problem...

Unless you think one of the strongest members taking a break is not a problem?

I vote for TardisDeli and jfarsang....

Edit: I would like to see TardisDeli be head moderator I cannot think of two people that are more far or have more respect in the Delica community and jfarsang become a moderator.

Cheers

It was just a matter of time till another long time member and big contributor has enough of this forum. More are going to follow.

The main problem of delica.ca is, it is run but two individuals. One (Mark) who has no personal involvement in the Delica community at all anymore as he does not own a Delica for years nor does he show up at any of the local meets. The other person (Falco) is involved in the community and an active member, a very nice guy, but way too opinionated and conservative to run this forum on his own.

New moderaters are not going to help as they are only here to delete spam, move posts or sometimes lock a thread if it goes over board. More involvement is not appreciated from the admins. New developments (like Delica Trader) are pure brain childs of the two admins. Moderators are not involved in this process. I offered my help on a few occasions but all I received was push backs.

Delica.ca from a technical level could be so much more than what it is, but the closed two-man circle does not allow for any progression nor does it move anything along in a reasonable time frame.

This forum is a good way to connect with people, but after that I rather meet with them in person to work on our vans, go camping, go for a drink, etc.

If the admins don't involve the local community and ask for their opinion and help, this forum becomes like any other random car forum and delica.ca is going to be far away from a club.

Jesse, I know where I can find you and that's what matters to me.

I assumed that moderators would have administrator powers..

I will edit my posts to read administrators as this is what this site needs.

I agree with fexlboi that without new administrators the form will lose membership.

I agree with RichD on this one. Meeting with people in person is the way to go

Personally, as long as this forum offers a way of keeping in contact with the Delica community then it has served us well enough. Anything more than that is just icing on the cake. I use the forum to display mods I've done, problem solve, ask questions and set up events. Discussions on here are fun but can be done in person and are much better that way anyways. I think Delica Trader is a great way of freeing up the forum for individuals to communicate without business interference.

Other than that I can only say, please don't mess too much with a good thing.

As for jfarsangs leaving, that is a great loss. I hope that the issues that have caused this 'breather' will either be resolved or dissipate quickly so one of our best resources will be able to return! Enjoy your break Jesse!

It's summer and between working at the hospital, spending time with my lady, working on projects and camping/friends, little time is left over for me.

And of course I'm still around. Like Rich and Felix said, this forum is an online place where people meet and share ideas,etc.. It's not where the essence of the delica community stops. It's just the first step. The rest happens outside in the real world !

See you guys out there this summer ! 8-)

The support is awesome :M

Here's the why :

Not many people like being told how to act or what to do.

When I'm being told that being myself (online presence) is considered provoking and illegal, it's just a little too much.

I removed the names so it's just the reason, not the individuals.
The following is a warning which has been issued to you by an administrator or moderator of this site.
Jesse, did you know that baiting and provoking can be interpreted as illegal? It falls under tolerance laws. Stop trying to manipulate the forum by baiting XX.

Jesse has been a long-term valuable contributor to this forum, and his absence would clearly missed by many (as this thread gives testimony to). I hope that his breather will be a brief one and have invited Jesse (as well as others directly connected to this episode) to call me directly to discuss.

It is clear that a significant issue to many relates to striking the correct balance between commercial interests (dealer posts for vehicle sales in particular) and those users who are not currently in the market and therefore have no interest in these postings.

It is important for Delica.ca to continue offering information on vans for sale (new users come here specifically to research what vehicles are available). However, it has also become apparent that the current system (regular thread posts for individual vans) is less-than-optimal for many reasons. The recent announcement that sales threads will be moved over to Delica Trader (and removed from View Active Topics) is specifically aimed at improving this situation.

Oh by the way thanks Mark and Falco for taking my moderator status. That tells again the story how you two tolerate others opinion. Keep going with your two-man show and you are going to make a lot of friends.

why is it so difficult for people to understand what a forum is. its a place for people to share ideas, chat about things and offer assistance. its not a pissing contest to whose right or wrong, or who has a better deal and vehs or to question prices. For christ sakes if you dont like what is said dont read it. jesse i hope some of us who value your input and expertise can still maybe contact you via email. i agree new blood is needed at the top just so things run smoothly.
