Jerry can

I need to get a non-vented Jerry can for my Moose hunt in a couple of weeks. I don't want to leave camp and drive an hour and a bit to refuel while I'm hunting. Has anyone got one or two that I could borrow, or buy? (I would rather borrow, because I won't need them for the rest of the year).

Non-vented? I got a bunch of the regular that you're welcome to borrow but no idea if that's what you're after? Maybe block the vent?

Cheers,
Mr. D

Where the vent is in the spout instead of a small plug? In case they tip over?

Even when I stored mine on the outside of the van they leaked on last years Chilcottin trip. What a mess. Logging roads are tough on anything that can rattle loose.

I lost a rear window opener on my last Beaverdell hunting trip, had to duct tape it closed. Now I tape over all my window hinges just in case. Japanoid said it was a very common problem.

Good luck and thanks for keeping me in mind for the future. Bag a moose.

Canadian tire has the self venting ones at a good price, when the funnel is turned inwards and the cap is tightened I don't have any leaks or smells from it (I've carried 4 inside my vehicle and slep with them in there).

X2, and they're yellow.

I keep one on board all the time.

If colour isn't an issue the red ones come in larger sizes and are a bit cheaper (at the Richmond Canadian tires that is)

Also, the look the same as the wallmart ones but don't be fooled. You won't get the wallmart ones to seal very well.

Upon further thought, I think I'll just go buy what I need. Better to have and not need, than need and not have. Thanks to all for the pm's. This really is a good place.
