sasquatch-hunter wrote:Hi guys! I was just joking. Actually, most of the American cars in Japan are LHD. I don't think they bother to change the steering. I do know they sell Jeep models (RHD) in Japan and some of them sold as Honda. Anyway, Mardy, I won't waste your time on finding me a RHD American car. What I want is a 300+ hp Pajero Evolution. I probably have to wait about two years. I want to smoke those Skylines with a SUV.
I was really hoping that you were joking but didn't want to say anything just incase you weren't :-D

That Pajero is AWESOME!
I would have to wait 12+ years for something like that! I have to wait 4 years to be able to import a decent L300 Delica to the US!
Oddly enough, I have seen one on Flickr plated with Arizona plates, do my eyes deceive me?? :?
Any chance that was just a 2WD Vanwagon?

Cool Report. Nice to see them painted in a flattering light for a change. Did you notice not one of them was a Skyline/Sports car/Death Trap?

40% more chance of crashing than left hand drive? Are we quoting from that seriously flawed report again?

Right hand drivers between the ages of 16 & 23 are 40% more likely to crash that left hand drivers between the ages of 16 & 75?

I don't know, I don't see how the piece does us much good - they leave the impression that the 40% myth is true and so consequently we're a hazard on the road...

x2

showed it at work at two guys left saying 40% more dangerous than LHD's. why?

people pick out the odd things and in this case it's that 40% danger statement regardless if it's true or not.

That's when we need to be quick to point out that not one of the vehicles was a "Rice-Rocket" in the hands of an 18 year old. There is your 40%. These are all purpose-purchased vehicles that happen to be really neat. Not bought to race your teenage douche-bag friend down a busy street.

I quite agree. Any ideas of how to do so ? Maybe we can make up some of our own rumors about ICBC and speak them as truth all over the place :-D Anyone have some suggestions about that ?

Well, ICBC was done for (I think) seven counts of fraud about the time that novella came out. Writing off vehicles then sending them out the back door and fixing them up, turning the clock back and selling them. Then I heard that that wasn't actually ICBC, just the people who work there.

Perhaps we could do some organizing and then contact the reporter with the real facts... No one in the piece seemed to know the 40% thing was debunked - or that's the impression they wanted to give...

not a bad bit, but it would have been better if they talked to a real delica mechanic, not Marigold

Probably a good link, but I don't want to have to create a login to read one article. Any chance you can repost the story?
