Done. and forwarded to other RHD I know.
Is it possible for the Administrator or Moderator to send out an e-mail to all registered Delica owners on this website and inform everyone what ICBC is doing I would assume there is probably many Delica owners that do not visit this site on a regular basis and haven't been here in awhile.I have the feeling that very few Delica owners are participating because they never scroll down beyond their own specific interest.

Re: Write email to ICBC Feedback to have the RHD study Remov
While I don't know that I'll be purchasing a Delica, I'll be in the market for a JDM vehicle soon. In light of that, I wrote in with the following:
It'd be nice to think it would help...Good day,
I'm writing to ask why there is a seemingly arbitrary 15-year limit on the importation of Japanese vehicles to British Columbia.
Japanese vehicles are far more fuel-efficient, safer, better designed, and offer features that North American car manufacturers refuse to implement.
Add to this ICBC's recent blatant manipulation of crash data to make it seem that RHD vehicles are less safe and more prone to accidents (http://ivoac.ca/docs/ICBC-RHD.pdf), I remain confused as to why ICBC will not allow me to license a vehicle which is clearly superior to the North American selection.
It is my wish that ICBC either allow for the importation and licensing of newer JDM vehicles, or that ICBC releases it's monopoly on public vehicle insurance.
If ICBC does not see fit to allow the public freedom of choice, then I will be sure to only get the most basic insurance from ICBC, sourcing my additional insurance from alternate providers.
Sincerely,
Brad Nelson

Brad the reasoning is politics
Allowing the importation of new JDM/euro spec vehicles into North America would kill the domestic market and also lower fuel pump sales.
USA has a 25 year import rule so consider yourself/ourselves lucky enough to get 15yr or older into Canada.
Has nothing to do with RHD though. All sorts of 15yr/older vehicles are being imported from around the world, mainly Japan and Europe both LHD and RHD.

...and there's the problem. Right now we only have the choice of vanilla or vanilla. The North American car manufacturers have no clue as to how to make a long-lasting, mechanically sound, well-engineered vehicle.jfarsang wrote: Allowing the importation of new JDM/euro spec vehicles into North America would kill the domestic market and also lower fuel pump sales.
We should have the choice. The fact that we don't is proof (in my eyes) that our insurance companies are in bed with manufacturers and/or oil.

I agree. It's common knowledge dating back since vehicles were born.
