I'm going to get ahold of my MP in Manitoba here, and see what he can do. He is a personal friend, and owns a 1989 Honda Actty, and a 1992 Subaru Sambar van. I'll let you guys know what he says.

That's great Manitoba. This whole topic has me concerned a little and might change the way I think about purchasing a RHD. I may be paranoid but who knows what can happen. Protesting or not if the gov. wants to do something they will.

What I mean is.....a lot of deals happen "behind closed doors". Just within my community the district offers town meetings when new proposals arise (much like all communities). Even after hearing all of the protests for reasons why certain things shouldn't happen they still go ahead and do it. It's not a perfect world and I fear the worst on this RHD ban. My buddies uncle has some pull around my parts politically and I am going to ask him if he knows anything about this matter.

Also, here a new group that we can get together, all RHD vehicles and start to get something going. http://www.facebook.com/groups/create.p ... 847&ref=mf

Spin-doctor alert! The 15 year exemption on imports is not a loophole, it's the way the law is written.

Well, it's official. the Quebec RHD ban has gone permanent. This is what happens when an entire province of RHD owners rolls over...

Too bad there isn't a single person in Quebec willing to fight for their rights.

Finally had a chance to sit down with my MP this morning for coffee, he basically said Quebec RHD owners to be are hooped. They may be able to explore certain avenues, like being a student in Ontario, therfore legaly having two adresses, one of them being a legal place to licence their RHD. As he is on the federal level, there is little he can do to fight a provincial ruling. He urges every one to write their provincial representative, tell them you are aware of what has happened in Quebec, and that you find this unacceptable, and that you will not stand for it, and are prepared to do everything within your power to fight it should your province decide to follow suit. If they receive alot of resistance, before they even start, they may decide not to try. It's alot harder to fight someone who is prepared to do battle. He also says, that while "blanket" or "generic" letters (everyone sending the same letter with their own name signed to it) are quick and easy, they are not taken with the same credibility as genuine personaly written letters. Thankfuly he assures me he will fight tooth and nail to ensure this doesn't happen in Manitoba, this however doesn't let Manitobans off the hook, we still need to write our representatives and let them know where we stand. This being said, I hope everyone writes a letter, after that, get to know your elected representatives, take them for a ride in your Delica, do your best to sell them one. If we can get at least one elected representative in every province to buy a Delica, or any RHD, I think we would find alot less resistance.
