Ok , so after I changed the fuel filter and primed it all up, I bled the remaining air out. She fired up right away. Kept running and I kept pumping the filter which seemed to work, except more fuel started leaking out of that tube below the filter. So I plugged the tube and all the bad symptoms went away. Turned her off and fired her up again just fine. I think I need a new fuel sensor that screws on from the bottom of the filter.

Excellent detective work, sounds like you've nailed it.
