Accessing A/C low pressure port

Mitsubishi Delica L400 production commenced in 1994 -- After much anticipation, the L400 arrived on Canadian Soil in 2009!

Accessing A/C low pressure port

Post by Mitsuballistic »

Have folks here successfully located (and if necessary) refilled the refrigerant at the low pressure (low side) port for the L400 air conditioning? It would appear that this port is very much buried, and therefore difficult to access.

Even if you remove the intercooler, accessing the L port in order to apply a product like Arctic Freeze or EZ Chill (essentially a refrigerant/sealant combo) seems next to impossible. Any advice on how I might approach this project?

I appreciate hearing about any L400 experiences with this!

Accessing A/C low pressure port

I cannot remember where it was, as this was 6 years ago, but I believe it is on the bottom right, when standing outside and facing the engine, down between where the batteries are, and the bus bar on the engine if my memory serves me correctly.

I was able to reach the low side without TOO much issue, cannot remember if I removed the intercooler or not.

In my case, it was actually a bad compressor, so still no AC to date.
