Rear Hatch Strut.

Post by P.Gaudreault »

Good morning,
I would like to change my hatch strut for heavy duty model that it could to lift extra weight, like a spare tire, bike, ladder ect.. My first idea was to build a swing out spare tire carrier. I already started to build my swing out but, it will add a lot of weight. And went I will tow my Teardrop + all my gear in the van, I'm afraid that It's gonna be to much weight. Somebody know where I could buy HD Strut or if you know the length and all spec of the OEM strut.

Thank you.

Have a look at this thread. Some good info in it with dimensions.

I suggest you contact Frank at http://strutwise.tech/ and tell him what you're looking to do. He knows his stuff and does good work. Lots of people (including me) on here have had him do their struts and are happy.
