fog light connector under the dash

Post by patriceboivin »

I found a connector under the dash which is part of the wire harness, hoping it might be for the fog lights.
From Japan I bought four fog lights, a set of two multi-coloured PIAA lights, and two which are housed in black plastic and have "SPACEGEAR" in the front. The recycler wrote PE8W on those.

I installed a relay in the engine bay fuse box where the fog lights relay is supposed to be.
Haven't found the plug socket for the fog lights is hidden in the engine bay, must be in the front somewhere near the driver side headlight.
There is an unused connector under the dash, but I don't know if it's for fog lights or for something else. Haven't seen any others but it's hard to see in there, so many wires. Is there usually more than one unused connector under the dash?

I know there is usually an unused harness under the dash for a turbo timer. It allows the engine to run for a few seconds after you turn off the engine to ensure the turbo unspools and cools off before the engine is stopped.
