That is my problem is it looks like a carbon copy.....Can RSI supply a source for this data...without a source it is the same as:

Use the injectors from the Mercedes OM617 (they use 5 only use 4 in the 4m40)

Mercedes Injectors: same injection spray angle degree ( 10 ), same throttle type nozzle and same holder type (screw on ) and same breaking power ( 15,000-16,000kpa, 150-160kg/cm3, 2133-2276psi ). (this is not true I just copied the data and said it was true).

SOURCE PLEASE???? -should not be hard as you just looked up the data??

you missed it. its not a Hyundai or korean source, that is a mute point. its the injector used in the mitsu 4d56 used in korea branded as Hyundai OEM. Jesse mentioned they are both made by Zexel.

My bad I thought that there where some changes to the Hyundai version around head design (pre-combustion chambers etc).

I would still like to see the exact specs on the Hyundai injectors (lots of stuff can be made by the same manufacture this does not make it equal (different material specs etc)). Also, the newer Mitsubishi 4D56 and 4m40 do not share injectors or have an interchangeable part numbers? I assume the answer to this is NO still?

Unless then there is proven advantage to running these injectors for performance then I think I would not gamble my $4000 motor on running them.

In all honesty for stock performance why would you not have the originals overhauled if the casing is good?

I've placed an enquiry with Mitsubishi Japan and Australia with regards to the interchangeability between the MD196607 (4D56T) and the ME200204 (4M40) injectors.

Email:
Dear Sir/Madame,

I'm looking for datasheet and information for the following Mitsubishi injectors:

Mitsubishi 4M40 engine (1994/03 - 1995/07) is ME200204

Mitsubishi 4D56T engine (1994/6 - 2004/4) is MD196607

Are the two injectors interchangeable and can be used in either engine?

If not, please provide explanation.

Much appreciated,
The question posed to two Mitsubishi dealer service shops in Japan provided no clarity.

Their response: We only install what specification by Mitsubishi service manual for application L400 Spacegear 1994-1995. Part# MD196607 not listed for the 4M40 engine. Part# ME200204 not listed for the 4D56T engine.

Rising Sun. Please provide the data sheet and part number for the Hyundai injector that you are using in the 4M40 engines to compare with the Mitsubishi OEM injectors.

The thing about diesel is that you can go to you your diesel supply and they can service your injectors. You hope/make efforts to ensure it works out good. I'm no expert, but this is the club you can join.
