Gigantic Bouquet for Steven and Son and Rising Sun Imports

Post by CanadaNZer »

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Steven and Son at Rising Sun Imports.

I made the trip out to Vancouver on Friday to buy a Delica. After lots of research I decided to go to Steven at Rising Sun Imports.

Steven went out of his way on a holiday weekend to help me finalise everything so I could drive back to Nelson yesterday. I can't say enough about the dedication he has to specialising in Delicas and providing a quality used import. I did pay more than a lot of advertised prices out there but I feel it is worth it.

Steven picked me up from the Skytrain and I test drove a 1996 L400 and a 1999 L400. He was very helpful with explaining different aspects of the vehicle and gave me loads of tips regarding driving and maintenance.

I decided on the 1999 L400. Even though Steven had demonstrated a lot of service had been done by them to the vehicle (with a large service list of work and new parts and showing me in the vehicle), I wanted an independent inspection for peace of mind. Steven drove me to Crown Tech Auto and waited with me for and hour for the inspection to be done (I did shout him lunch!), and agreed on some final work to be done (mainly very minor plus brake pads 40-50% worn so they put new ones on for me). Crown Tech said that it was a great looking Delica - one of the best they had seen and none of the problems sometimes seen such as fluid leaks).

After inspection Steven drove me to BCAA so I could arrange insurance and do the transfer of ownership. He arranged and paid for a taxi for me back to the Skytrain station.

Steven's son came in on Sunday morning to do the final minor work and brake pads.

Sunday morning Steven again picked me up from the Skytrain station. He gave me two free spare oil filters and a printed maintenance schedule. Both Steven and his son gave me extra last minute advice and looked up and printed directions for me to get to Tsawwassen and then out of Vancover to Nelson.

Thanks so much again Steven and your son for taking time away from your family on a holiday weekend - for all your help and time. I appreciate you helping me out so much.

Claire :-D
