Rising Sun sets for Arnold

Post by Super Exceeded »

I recently tried Rising Sun for the first time as my phone calls with Steven in the past have always been positive.

Until, now!
For those of you that have been following me you would know that I have been troubles starting my engine. I have had three mechanic types look at it. They ALL said the same thing. "I have no idea whats wrong. but get a compression test"

I went to see Steven and asked him if, at my cost, he could send a mechanic to my house to do the compression test to avoid a towing expense. He said that he could not do that and I would have to tow the vehicle to him.

I did, and instead of doing a compression test, as per my request, his mechanic pulled the valve cover and replaced a part. He then tried to start it. It wouldn't, (but I already knew that) they then replaced the fuel pump, again it wouldn't start. After they had the vehicle for almost a week they did a compression test, and wow, there was no compression.

Steven billed me $300 for this. When I mentioned all that was done, and that I had asked for a compression test, he told me that he has a $300 minimum. So not to worry it would have cost me $300 anyway.

Steven, I won't be back nor will I send people your way.

Have you ever expected engine diagnosis is free of charge from my shop?
Why didn’t you ask backyard/mobile mechanics to bring their own tools and do compression test AT YOUR HOUSE to save towing cost as you knew all problem already? Or you should buy tools to do it by yourself.

I did not realize why only 130K engine has no compression at all. Did you misinform me its real mileage?
You were too cheap to invoice adequately.

Never looked at this problem for Arnold but I know I told him to do a compression test.

Diesels will not run without lots of compression basic requirement for the motor design...

I know Arnold was only wanting a compression test and a compression test or a leak down test first would avoid swapping the injector pump (you can put a new injector pump on and it ain't going to fire a diesel without compression)..

I have never known Arnold not to be more than fair in our exchanges for a few used parts or safe keeping of tools I have loaned him or flights he sent my boys on.

Mileage would not be a reason not to do a compression test....a motor with 10km can have no compression....

a backyard mechanic sounds more qualified in this case (problem is you need an adapter to do a compression test on a diesel (glow plug come out) and diesel gauge to read the high numbers

Steven you have not addressed doing things before not asked for before performing the compression test asked for? And again I have never known Arnold to want things for free

We discussed all the things with Arnold through phone or meeting at my shop.
We never have done any jobs for POS delicas to avoid future trouble and non payment.
Arnold told you a lie.

Also I never realized you two are so close.

Here is just a suggestion of customer service on a public form:

Hey Arnold:

We have always appreciated your business and would like to work with you to resolve what happened.

It looks like we had a communication issue. I will try to give you a call later today to find a mutual resolution to this issue.

Cheers
Rising Sun

Or

Sorry Arnold we could not find a mutual resolution to our difference. We would like to keep you as a customer and sorry we could not find a resolution. We wish you all the best.

Cheers
Rising Sun

(what is the hours on a compression check? say 1.5hours X shop rate say 80/hr = $120.00 is it really worth calling someones Delica a POS on a public delica form over $180.00....really (people might think you are calling the 6x6 this) (to be honest all broken delicas could be called a POS. saying a 130,000km motor could not have low compression makes you look as if you do not know Delicas. Saying I defend Arnold since we are best friends (you have had way more transactions with him, not to mention I just said he has always been reasonable with my dealings with him))...

I had trouble with my custom drive shafts for my Jeep/Mercedes I built. I paid to tow it too the drive shaft shop, the drive shaft shop put 2 people on it for 4 hours and helped me finish up a few things outside of the drive shafts....NO CHARGE!!!

Not that I'm involved but you are kinda trolling a topic between the poster and RSI. You don't know exactly what was discussed so how can you offer possible scenarios.

Exactly what i was thinking.

Awesome suggestion. Lashing out just shows how low we can go.

Definitely not taking my money there... ever.

Steven I clearly informed you of what I had done and clearly asked you to do a compression test. It was that simple.
