L300 1993 headlights needed

Post by Krazykraut »

I’m looking for a set of new headlights, left one has a crack, right one has the insides pretty much rotted away from sitting outside somewhere in BC. Would be ok with non DOT as I’m in Oregon. Or a lead on a new set?

i’m not sure these will fit a 93 but I saw these interesting LED versions on ebay and they have a LHD version. they say L300 99-later but they look the same as my 91. I tried contacting the seller but they never responded back about fitment to earlier vans. Can anyone confirm whether these would fit or not? I’d love some LHD headlights.

Looks like they're the same as from here: https://www.crazythegod.com/catalogsear ... /?q=delica
Some Taiwan seller with an address for a US distributor but not much else. At $299 for the pair with LED this may actually work for me.

May be worth moving this thread into L300 Technical.

If they’re saying they’re for a 99-ON I wonder what the difference is for earlier vans and why they wouldn’t fit or what we’d have to do to make these work.

Anyone have experience with later L300 vans and know if these would work?

I just emailed that company and asked but have a feeling they won’t know.

The ebay listing mentioned a money back guarantee, I just dont want to chance it right now.

I contacted the company and they asked for photos of my van (91)

They got back to me and said they would fit.

Might be worth a try if anybody is up for it.

Ok I’ll go for it. Just to double check, I need the LHD version, right? Little scared looking at all the wires and extra pieces, may need some help there. Have half of an electrical engineering degree but no experience with car electrics. Anybody in PDX want to help and watch me struggle?

Yeah get the LHD version.

I’ll be watching as I’d love to not blind other drivers. I already get flashed a lot as other drivers think I’m high beaming them.

Ok I pulled the trigger on the LHD version with angel eye LED. They come from Taiwan, so it may be a few days before they show up. I got so frustrated today getting the headlight adjusters to spin (even when packed with silicon glide paste they still are stubborn and one of them is cracked anyway) that I decided to go for proper headlights. Mine were original RHD anyway and pretty much rotted out on the insides. At $316 shipped for the pair that sounds like a good deal, so now I’m just hoping they’ll fit.
Will post pictures when installed.

Christmas came early this year! DHL just brought the box with two brand spanking new headlights from Taiwan. It looks like they'll fit - will know for sure on Saturday. These are actually the projector type with HID H1 bulbs, and some "angel eye" light. Just talked to my local electrical shop today, they are going to install them on Saturday. The shop suggested ditching the cheapo ballast and getting a serious one. They also want to run a new wiring loom directly from the battery so as not to overtax the OEM harness, which seems like a wise choice to me. Anyone running Xenon too? I can always switch for LED if I feel like these have too much glare. As far as I know, here in Oregon these are street legal IF they are aimed correctly and have the LHD pattern. Of course, no DOT stamp on the glass...
Pictures coming soon.
