Rubber Seals (Run Channels) for sliding windows

Post by Pawel »

Hi There,

Thanks to this amazing community I have managed to source sliding windows for my L300 Delica. I have three of them. Two for the right side and one for the sliding door.

Now, while the frame and the glass is in perfect order the rubber seal inside the channels is all brittle and falling apart. I would like to source a new run channels, find someone who does this kind of service or learn what would be the best way to deal with this issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Pawel

Long wheelbase vans Part number MB416315 for the left, MB416316 for the right side. CAD$68.95 from Amayama.com.

You might be able to use more generic dual-channel flocked sliding window weatherstrip, something like this: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/310465588325
Nothing says "poor workmanship" more than wrinkles in the duct tape.

Thank you Growlerbearnz! Much appreciated!

I actually have three sliding windows. Two of them came from driver's side and one came from sliding doors on passenger side. Two of them appear to be identical but when put side by side there seems to be a slight difference in length - maybe 5mm.

Someone has told me the following part # for my windows and now I am slightly confused: MB416314, MB416313 and MB478209

The smallest window of three comes from passenger side and is the very back window and only one part of it opens up. Could you have a look at all those numbers and help me through the fog here?

Thank you very much!!!

My part numbers are for the long wheelbase version, and they'll be slightly longer than the short ones.

You'd be better to look the part numbers up yourself for your exact model of van- go here

http://www.partsbase.org/mitsubishi/del ... 1986-1999/

and choose your model. The info you need is on the chassis plate below the drivers side seat.

Rubber Seals (Run Channels) for sliding windows

Post by gabrielino2 »

I spent a long time trying to figure out where to get window channel, and what was what, so I thought I would share my findings.

Delica Window Channel Replacement for Right Side Drive Vehicles

Double sided foam moulding tape (I found this on Amazon for less than $10US - JVCC DC-WGT-01 Double Coated Window Glazing Tape: 1/8 in. thick x 1/4 in. x 75 ft)

For the right side behind the driver:
MB416314 - Right Side Window Channel
MB478210 - Right Side QT Panel Window Channel

For the left side behind the passenger:
MB416313 - Left Side Window Channel

MB416325 - Divider Seal (the vertical rubber that fits between the two sliding window panels)

Places to get the parts you need:

https://partsouq.com/ - didn’t have MB478210 when I inquired
https://www.amayama.com/en - had all the parts… they shipped from Japan. This is where I got the stuff from.
https://www.mitsubishipartswarehouse.com/ - had the left and right in stock but would have to special order MB478210
https://www.mitsubishiparts.net/ - did not appear to have MB478210

Note MB478209 - Is the LFT Quarter Panel window channel (for US left drive vehicles)

I paid $67US for each of the left and right side channel and $40US for the quarter panel on the right side… plus shipping (from Japan)

I did not replace the divider seal, because it was still in fair condition. The window channel was falling apart though, and water was getting in when it rained.

Installation and replacement was simple, but took some time. Take it easy and slow. Getting the new channel in was a little tough, but using a putty knife to seat it helped greatly. Hopefully the info above will help folks out there.

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but when I see the QT Panel Window Channel, is that the middle side window or rear side window?
