..all for tinkering with these older vehicles as it can be fun, however when someone mentions buying specialty tools to repair major engine components without having all the necessary tools.(yes, there are more than one for your IP) then this will usually only end one way...Merry Xmas Marty, Glenn or Butch!! 8-)

Here's a question thats a little harder to answer. If you run alcohol/water injection (50/50 mix) and you get too much squelch, (diesel knock) at high boost,(9.5-11psi) but are running the smallest single nozzle injector...can one adjust the timing to compensate without adversely effecting the non injected running condition too much? Tried different mixes but get the same result..light knocking under high boost - not comfortable with that. The injector guys say its overcooling and to inject less, but I'm maxxed out in that dept. Starting to think that injection simply is not worth the effort on this small diesel. I could add more fuel pressure to compensate, but that would defeat the purpose. Had the IP rebuilt with new injectors and the truck runs flawlessly otherwise.(efficient/starts easily) Could it be solved with adjusted timing?
**Please only answer if you understand the above.

Have you checked the L300 Dedicated Technical Reference Library/L300 Shop Manual Downloads/L300 Engine/L-300 Fuel Delivery Systems Manual... Go to page 13B-1. ( viewtopic.php?f=116&t=7339 )
