I recently melted the connection to the fusible link (6 a and b in photo) that makes the starter work (goes to starter relay? starter solenoid). The fusible link is decrepit so I intend to replace both it and the connector. Can anyone confirm if MB328732 is the correct part, 1mm2.
Next, while I was exploring the electrical octopus of the battery wiring I found some confusing and alarming things:
The lights are powered by wire 3 which is directly connected to the battery, no fusible link or fuse in sight.
The glo-plugs are powered by wire 7, which goes directly to an after market relay, then to the glo bus bar. The glo system is an amalgam of the quick start and non-quick start systems. I have added to the hackery by making it a manual start. Its a whole thread onto itself.
Fusible link 9 is for the .... AC compressor?
Connector 8 is for ?
My goals are 1) be able to start my beast (without connecting wires)
2) make it safe!
Help appreciated.

I believe you have the right part number for the burnt link... it's for the glow plugs.
9 is for the A/C (should be green). 8 is typically not connected... it's for some optional accessory.
