L300 Rear main seal replacement

Post by mrock21 »

Hey all,

New to the forum,

Trying to trouble shoot some leaks going on and believe I have traced the main leak of concern to the junction of the transmission and the engine, and based on my research it's the rear main seal that I'm gonna be attempting to replace. "Amayama" is the parts dealer I have used in the past, but they are telling me that this seal is out of production, but that part number MD343564 "should fit". Does anyone have experience with this part and know if it will be the appropriate part before i tear the van apart?

Also any insight and pointers on the replacement would be helpful if anyone has experience. I have the manual and it has pretty step by step instructions on how to do so..

Cheers,

Mark

I'd double check the part number with your van's VIN on partsouq. If it's the same then you should be good to go. If they're different but not expensive buy both.

MD343564 is the official replacement for the No Longer Available original part MD069947.

If you go to https://mitsubishi.epc-data.com/ you can enter your chassis number you'll have a parts book that's specific to your vehicle.

Here's the part listing for that seal for my van, which shows the original part number and the replacement: https://mitsubishi.epc-data.com/delica_ ... lock/9540/ (When it lists "replacement" it means the original part is NLA, despite showing the price beside the original part number- slightly misleading.)
Nothing says "poor workmanship" more than wrinkles in the duct tape.
