Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Tachometer stops in cold weather

Post by deskinthewoods »

-13C this morning and the tachometer didn't work until I'd driven for 25 minutes. Would that be a sender issue (which I believe is on the injection pump) or a dial issue (in the instrument panel)?

BTW, Wilson started up right away, chugged for a bit and then ran with no issues. :-D

OK, done some reading and I'm guessing the sensor end. I'll give a thorough check of connectors and all that over the weekend...

If it's any consolation, mine has been doing the same thing lately. It always comes back to life once it warms up it seems.

-14C and same issue. I guess it's the instrument panel end. I think I'll live with it for now...

Interesting! Let us know if you figure it out- I have no way of testing at temperatures that low.
