(btw I am new to cars but very eager to learn) My Delica won't start! So I was having troubles yesterday on starting the car, but quickly figured out the usefulness of the throttle knob next to my steering wheel, and all was fine. Sadly today came with more starting issues at first the car was making a very slight slow WHIRRING (again sorry I'm not more knowledgeable!) sound, but the RPM would remain at zero :(. So I tried to jumpstart the car thinking it might have been the battery, but now when I start the car there's a clicking sound! I am very confused, any help would be greatly appreciated

So! After a little research ive concluded it might be a flat battery :). Going to canadian tire today and purchasing a noco genius g3500. Even if it doesn’t work, I need this to maintain my battery, as I do not daily or even sometimes weekly or :$ Biweekly drive.

Again thoughts and comments would be very appreciated!

Yup, that sounds like a dead battery. Do you know how old your battery is? Is there a date code on it? Is it a Japanese battery? Chances are you need a new battery as well as the charger.

Most batteries have a date code somewhere on the case, either on a sticker or stamped into the plastic. Check the manufacturers website for guidance on where to find and how to interpret the date code.

Most batteries will last about 5 years in typical use. A battery that is worn out will start randomly going flat for no reason. If you find your battery going flat sometimes, and you didn't leave the lights on/door open/key on, it might be time to get a new one. Some battery retailers can test your old battery, but they want to sell you a new one so they're unlikely to say "oh no, it's fine".

Also, if I do end up having to buy a new battery, what kind of battery should I get?

Before you purchase a new battery: Have you cleaned the terminals and cable ends? An hardly noticeable barrier can form from, say, condensation, a change in the weather, &c., enough to drain a battery. It's happened to me. I'm not saying that this is your problem but an awful lot of engine issues can be cured by cleaning the battery terminals or replacing the air filter element.
