Engine running hot

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Engine running hot

Post by dexterdp »

Hi there,

I have had my van down for repairs over the winter. Just getting her back on the road recently. My engine is very hot too the touch after I’ve been driving around. My temp gauge is still seems to be working.. sitting about a third. My lower rad hose doesn’t seem like it’s getting any pressure or heat. I tested the thermostat before I put it all back and it opened when it should. The water pump is new last year. Am I paranoid? Or should I be looking at something else?

I had that problem and tried everything.... :-( I make it back to normal temperature by adjusting the Injection Pump to suggested settings !

What shape is your air filter element in? An old clogged air filter will create black smoke, loss of performance and make your motor run hotter. I try to check the cheap simple options before I tear the fuel system or intake manifold apart. =D
