Reversing at night or in low light situations

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Reversing at night or in low light situations

Post by NewDelica91 »

So I was coming home a few days ago from a nice day out and was trying to reverse into my parking spot and notices it was hard to see where I was going as my reverse lights seemed dim. Is there a brighter bulb out there? I had considered getting a LED light kit and mount a separate switch. Any thoughts or ideas would be awesome!

Here is my solution for this problem. Two inexpensive LED flood lights from Amazon. Powered by a relay that is either energized when the reverse lights come on and also by a switch in the dashboard. Helpful whe loading the van at night or when you hook up a trailer. It is working good for me.

I like this idea as well. When you can post the pics I would like to see what bulbs you used. Do you remember where you purchased them from?

I just replaced the stock bulbs on my Townace. The 1157 bulbs don't look that much brighter but the 1156 ones are at least twice maybe three times as bright as the originals.

I ordered them off amazon.ca

LUYED 5 x 900 Lumens 12v-24v 1156 1141 1003 3014 78-EX Chipsets Led Bulb Used For Back Up Reverse Lights,Brake Lights,Tail Lights,Rv light,Xenon White(Best Choice Of High Brightness)
Sold by Hot Light Team
Condition: New

5 bulbs for $25 is pretty reasonable as well.

@ Ralph in Winnipeg

the bulbs I used were the 1700 LUMEN version of what you posted.

$19 US for 2 bulbs

I went with the brightest I could find!

I also used in the front side illuminators! Super bright when that signal turns on!

sorry link didn't work @NewDelica91

Here it is, a CREE Led Light bought on Ebay a while ago...sorry, not part number on it...One is with reverse light on (the Suzuki is 10M away) and the other on without it  Now, if you have tinted glass....you may need something more powerfull :o

Will these lights fit in a L400 as well or do they use a different chipset?
