oil pan gasket

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

hi everyone,
per my mechanics, my oil pan gasket is leaking on my 4d56. how difficult is this to change with the engine in place? is this a common problem. the valve cover is also leaking so I was wondering if this could be a false diagnostic, oil beeing everywhere under the engine, mix with fuel leaking from the pump.
everything is gonna be fix at the same time once I receive the parts from rising sun.
im just wondering how hard of a job fixing the pan gasket will be.
at the same time, anyone have installed a zexel gasket and seal kit for the fuel pump and know how much time it can take?

change les choses qui sont facile avant... Souvent le oil dip stick o-ring va durcire avec le temp alors ca c'est facile a changer, souvent tous les seals en avant du moteur von couler de l'huile aussie. Remplace le crank seal avec la oil pump sleeve, lower and upper harmonic seal avec les sleeves aussie,... fait sure que le valve cover est tight... fait tous ca et wash le engine super bien et moniteur les fuites d'huile... la pan a huile elle je pence que ce nest pas ton problem...

^What Chuck says. Check all that first, plus the metal cover on the engine behind the injection pump and turbo oil feed. The easiest way to check is to remove the splash guard under the engine, have the engine thoroughly steam cleaned, and then watch for where the oil is coming from.

The oil pan is usually sealed with high-strength grey silicone (permatex grey works well) rather than a separate gasket, and is unlikely to start leaking unless there's physical damage to the oil pan. it's difficult to remove and reinstall with the engine in place because it passes very close to the front axle. You might be able to remove it by loosening the engine mounts and lifting the engine slightly, but I haven't tried that.
Nothing says "poor workmanship" more than wrinkles in the duct tape.
