Liftgate Struts

Hey, folks I just wanted to let anyone that is or is going to be looking that I got a set of struts for my Delica installed today (Did it myself as well). I got the struts from www.liftsupportsdepot.com. Awesome rates ($130CAD S&H w taxes) and fast for the delivery (well at least to me) I will let you know I had to pay about $15 CAD in duties. Anyways I just wanted to let you folks know. Have a great weekend.

FYI, I also bought my struts for my L300 here. Very happy with them, too.

No problem. The install is pretty easy, having a tall person will help as you have to install the new struts with the gate opened all the way. And BE CAREFUL when tightening the bolts as they break very easy. I found out the hard way and had to pay a visit to Greggs for a full replacement set.

You and me both. I broke all four and had to drill them out.

Had to drill it our as well, lots of fun for a noob lol

Are you guys breaking bolts because the old ones are seized on the van/hatch or new ones cranking them down on installation? Curious to know before I start wrenching.

I over tightened mine as I was an idiot! First time thought it had to be super tight lol apparently I was wrong. My advice would be to GO SLOW!!!!

If you're looking to reinforce your current struts because, lets say you have a ladder or a Bike rack on the rear hatch, may I recommend StrutWise in BC. Mine were starting to weaken and not function properly. Strutwise was able to rebuild and reinforce my struts and now they work better than new. I had to ship mine out from Ontario, but it was def worth it. Now my hatch stays up, even with my Fiamma Bike Rack on the rear.

Mine broke removing them. I am using a Milwaukee M12 Impact Driver, FWIW.
