Headlight light bulbs

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Do you folks also find yourselves changing light bulbs in your headlights every four to five months? I keep a stash of H3's in my cold box. Am I the only one?

Nope. My current bulbs are 7 years old, the previous ones were factory fitted.

Are you fitting the correct 55W bulbs? Higher wattage bulbs can overheat and fail.

Check your wiring to the headlamps too, especially the earth connection. An intermittent connection can cause the filaments to fail earlier than they should.

Honestly, I don't know if they are 55 or not. They are from Canadian tire, Certified brand H3 bulbs. They don't mention anything regarding watts. I'll have to check the wiring as well. I know that there are a few too many things connected to my battery. Not sure what they do. Wonder if that might have something to do with it.

Where's a good place to buy new bulbs? Looking to replace a dead one on my 91 L300. Are they easy to replace yourself?
Thanks!

When you replace them is the ground wire look okay? If the bulbs are cheap a bad ground could burn them out quick. L300s headlamp ground wire is a common problem. A lot of people end up soldering a new ground wire to the headlamp and fitting the other end with a better connector to the new bulb to solve the problem

I bought the Philips Crystal Vision Ultra on Amazon they weren't cheap but they're a lot brighter. I'm just having an issue with aiming my headlights now

Did you ever figure out how to aim your lights?

Which bulbs did you replace with?

The Philips Crystal Vision are great, despite the stupid blue tint band. Osram Nightbreakers are also excellent.

Used to replace a bulb every oil change... got annoying. Installed LEDs and have not had an issue since.

Does the Wattage need to be consider for LED replacement ? Is a LED 100W producing more bad heat than an original 55W ?

Thanks

Which LED bulbs did you use? Any issues since? Installation any different?

some random brand with flexible heat sinks. I did not want to cut the backing. They have been great so far.
