Toolkit and other bits for L300

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Toolkit and other bits for L300

Post by NewDelica91 »

So I'm trying to get a kit together for day trips and a kit for multiple day trip any suggestions? My vehicle did not come with the standard kit unfortunately. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated thanks in advance! Also looking for other pieces of kit that are good to have as well.

It should be housed in the left rear pillar, just below the tail lamp, accessible from inside if you remove the trim panel. There should be an orange hydraulic jack, and a black vinyl bag with tools.

I only mention this because I used to work for AAA and absolutely *no one* knew where the tool bag was in an L300. Even at the wrecking yards (where they remove tools from all vehicles and sell them separately for ridiculous prices) the L300s always have their tools. My own van came with some dodgy scissor jack and a motley collection of spanners, while the factory tool kit was in place, brand new, never touched.

Oh. Suggestions. 10, 12, 14mm spanners. Adjustable spanner. Pliers. Screwdriver with replaceable tips- #2 and #3 philips especially. A jack that has enough lift to change a tyre, and a wheel brace strong enough to get the wheel nuts off. Cable ties, insulation tape, duct tape. Rags.
Nothing says "poor workmanship" more than wrinkles in the duct tape.

When I went to check it before buying I checked for the tool kit and found a jack and the lever for the jack and nothing else

It's a breaker solution. Helps get rusted or stuck screws and bolts free.

Flex head ratchet wrenches are a time saving godsend. Also, a good utility knife and all the other items mentioned. I carry along a small multi-purpose funnel and some brake cleaner as well.
