Any recommendations for a mechanic in San Francisco?

Oh yeah. It was pretty easy actually. It was titled in Colorado (needs to be a state to state transfer). I needed two manager interactions (first to see if I'm smog exempt, which a 91 is exempt. ) and the other to override entering a non 17 digit vin. The key was to get the vin verified at a certified vin verifier (outside the DMV) I had all my paper work and everything was legit so it went quick.

Need an output shaft seal on the transfercase and he said the turbo drain is starting to weep oil.

I believe I found the seal from another thread but I'm not sure what is needed for the turbo drain. Any ideas?

I don't regarding the turbo drain. Still learning about the car and thats usually with regards to what fails :) But i'm sure other folks would if you post a question; if you haven't already.

hi, when you say state to state transfer this rules out a title from buying a vehicle in British Columbia and driving into the U.S ? Any ideas how that might work ? I'm in LA and thinking of buying.

I'll let the California guys talk about registration in California, but if the car is bought in B.C. Canada it would require importing to the U.S. Its a pretty easy process but its different than registering the car in the state and not considered a US state-2-state transfer.

Correct. It may as well come directly from Japan as far as California is concerned. I’d just get one from another state, already registered in CA or from an importer who has titled and registered in another state already which is what I did (Delica USA)
