Speaker Sizes, front and rear

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Speaker Sizes, front and rear

Post by Morganizer »

I have a 1994 Delica P25 Turbo-D. The rear speakers are gone (removed by previous owner) and one of the front ones is blown, so it's time for new ones all around. I measured the front ones at 4" diameter. The rear grills have a circle of vents that is 5-1/2" diameter -- is this the size of the stock speakers?

Can the rear be fitted with 4x6" or 6x9" speakers? The grills are big enough to accommodate them, but has anyone tried this?

Thanks,

- Morgan

I had 6x9's in my L300 .... it took a bit of angle grinding and some cursing to get em in there tho, I'de stick to 4x6 or 6" round if I was to do it again

I put 4" JVC's in the front and that was a direct fit. I thought the rears were 5.25, but when I took it apart I fount that they were more like 6" or 6.5. I had already purchased the 5.25 JVCs and didn't want to send them back so I made them work. My system sounds great! Here are some pics of how I made the 5.25s work. Hope this helps: ImageImage Here are the speakers I used:Image
