window replacement

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

window replacement

Post by gondaff »

When nature decides to exact revenge, you sometimes have to get creative. After one of the side windows decided to implode on contact with a branch (ok, I may not have helped the situation much.), I found myself out in the woods with limited supplies. The solution went something like this.

First, assess the damage.

Next, find a suitable material to cover the damage.

Now you are going to need to trim the edges, (I use a chainsaw) and drill holes (for me that means a drill bit in a screwdriver)

Next use twigs, zip ties and pre-existing window mounts.

And all of this work would be for nothing if you didn't water proof.
In this case I recommend duct tape.

To finish it all off be sure to congratulate the team for a job well done.

Now carry on with the rest of your weekend.

The short of it all is that I am in the market for a new side window. (Any body hear of any.) And that when you go out into the woods, make sure that all of your windows are closed. Oh ya, and thank god for MacGyver and the A-team teaching me as a kid.

What a happy ending and an excellent fix! Nice storyboard. I really liked the small branches holding the window in place. Thanks for the pics and the solution. Never go any where without a trusty saw in hand.
