Pajero Petrol Parts Needed

Post by FredVenne »

Good day everyone!

I need your help.

I have a Mitsubishi Pajero Exceed 1998 3.5L GDI DOHC

I ABSOLUTELY need a timing belt kit with water pump ASAP!!!

My problem is that anyone that I've asked about parts for this vehicle (here in Canada and Australia) cannot help me. It seems that the model I have was only sold in Japan and IS different than the Montero sold in NAmerica. I have already order parts that did not fit. All summer I've tried to resolve this problem by contacting lots of people, but no one seems to be able provide parts or even where can I get the parts.

It is a GDI DOHC.

So, if there is anyone that own a similar vehicle, where do you get your parts? I am sure by now some of you had to change the timing belt. So, if anyone (business included) reading this can help me, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a million everyone!

Fred

Locally, Rising Sun Imports is whom I'd recommend.

Milner's Offroad (UK) is a great source and is quick with turn around.

Partsouq (EU) and Amayama Trading (UAE and JP) can get you oem parts.

I'm purposely not including direct links just in case. But a quick Google will get you to all these places...

We have the '93 and just had it done last week. I'll see if I can find the kit number for belt tensioners and pump.

Im not sure if ours is the GDI. All I know is 3.5 DOHC and it was in by the next morning.

Hope that helps.

PS, check rockauto.com thats where I found the part number for the kit.

Here is a list of options, all of which are a bit less with shipping than I paid locally in Calgary. I went with the ACDelco full kit, seals, tensioners and pump for $320. With rock auto it would have been around 280.00 with shipping, but I would have had to wait another two weeks to get them in and my water pump was leaking really bad.

It was around 5 hours of labour as there is the ac pump, alternator, shroud etc that all have to move.

What shops did you talk to that said you couldn't get the parts? Crap, just saw the date on this thread, hope it was resolved by now!

Just for info sakes, we didn't get the GDI officially here, in the Montero, even in the gen3. But Rock Auto is a good source in the meantime, and GDI or not makes no difference in terms of timing gear. Not sure if Fred is sorted or not...?

Yes it went fine! I got my parts somewhere else. The problem with RockAuto is they don't have DOHC.

But it's all good now thanks!
