Squeek squeek squeek...

Post by pajerry »

So yeah, repetitive squeaking consistent with vehicle rolling speed coming from engine bay/bottom of engine. It only happens under forward acceleration and is difficult to pin point while driving in the vehicle.

Doesn't do it revving in neutral or going in reverse.

My first thought was the bottom pulley, or maybe Ujoints, but why only the noise under power going forward?

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Here's my thought. Kinda out there... Kinda reminds me of when my right hand calliper seized. What happens when you're driving and you let go of the wheel, do you pull to one side? If you do, have you felt the wheel hub of the side you're pulling to? This may not be the issue but see if either of your front hubs are hot to the touch after driving for a bit, this could be the source of your squeak.

Thanks Falco, hope you're doing well.

The squeek revs up with the engine as well, so if I let off the throttle, there is no noise. It has to be a part under power.

Maybe I'll have to put the rear on blocks with the ebrake engaged for some resistance and listen for myself...
