Here are some directions...

McCulloch / Hydraulic Forest Recreation Site is owned by the Provincial Government and operated by the Regional District.

Features:
48 un-serviced RV and tenting sites near McCulloch and Hydraulic Lakes
Each site contains a fire pit and picnic table in an area fully shaded by mature trees
A small boat launch for non-motorized boats
Things To Do:
The campground and area contains walking and biking trails including the Kettle Valley Railway. Swimming is not recommended.

The site provides a great starting point for bike riding or walking on the KVR, fishing on the lake or visiting the summer interpretive trail at Nordic Cross Country Ski Area across the road.

General Information:
Dogs must be kept on a leash within park boundaries and owners should clean up after their pets.

Campers must be self-contained and bring their own water. Outhouses provided.

The campground is open from May long weekend until Thanksgiving long weekend and there is a camp host on site to collect camping fees and supervise the site. Firewood can be purchased from the camp host.

As per Provincial regulations camp fees are $12 per site per night (including HST) / seniors and handicapped passes are $6 (including HST). You can camp on a first come, first serve basis. There are no reservations.

Directions:
Take Highway 33 past the Big White turn off and turn right on the McCulloch / Idabel Lake Road and follow the dirt road through to McCulloch Lake. Turn left just before McCulloch Lake Lodge. The first campground is Hydraulic Lake and approximately 1 km further is the McCulloch Lake campground.

Sounds interesting. Is it possible to park together or does each Deli need their own site?

Most provincial parks have a 2-vehicle per site max.

I should also be good, got the kitchen pass signed off and hopefully work won't play stupid with me...

In most of our past outtings we never bothered with campsites. We've been good to use local knowleadge to find a secluded spot and hide from the crowd. Sooooooo, anybody with something in mind? And good trails to play? (see, when people tell you I'm high maintenance they're right! :-D ) One thing I didn't say is that if the campsite is too nice my wife might be tempted to come but if it's wild then I'm free! 8-)

Seeya then!

Well,I looked it up and it looks like 1 Vehilcle and a RV or Tent trailer ETc and 1 Additional Vehicle is all you are permited per Site. In my Experiences the The Forestry Campgrounds are usually pretty Casual there is not typically too many Tourists at them and I am sure you could push the rules a bit if you bribe the dude who stays out there.Anyway Hopefully someone fammiliar with McCulloch lake area will jump in here soon and make some Recomondations for trails ETC.One other thing I am going to Water jet cut out a pile of EGR blanking plates. They will be the perfered .250 Inch thick steel plates with mounting holes and bolts. If there is interest in purchasing some I will bring them to MCCulloch for a real cheap price to who ever shows up.like 10 bucks or something not too sure yet...just enough to help pay for the steel.
Hope this works out...I am going in any case.I can probably find some trails ETC.Maybe I will Scope it out during the week..
Cheers.

Agree with Delicat on informal camping.

I will pick up an EGR kit for Coaxial.

Are any trails in the vicinity? I wanna play. :-)

tis been a while since i was up around mcculloch lake.
when i suggested this area, i wasnt thinking about a provincial park or anything, i was just thinking about the general area.
im sure there are some secluded "fee free" areas that we could drive to... :?

i might go up there sometime this week, and have a look around. anyone interested in a day trip, just drop me a PM. :-)

if anyone also just wants to meet up for a simple coffee or lunch also PM me. :-)

There's a good excuse to go out and play! :-D

It's not so much about being free but about being somewhat secluded without the RV and all... I've been to some parks that made you feel you were the last survivor or their scenery made up for being an organized park. I have no problem to pay if I don't feel like I'm in an all inclusive resort... 8-)

Thanks guys for cheching this out!
