Food Anyone?

Post by Adrock »

Alright, its not that close but time flies and you can never be too prepared.

How do people feel about doing t hings sort of pot luck style, at least for saturday night dinner. I think it would be a great way to get to know everyone and have an awesome meal out in the wilderness.

If you like the idea, post what you would like to bring, if not, tell me how to do it better.

I'm not a foodie! I'm an eattie.

Hi Adam,
I like the pot luck idea but getting everyone coordinated with all the entrees, side dishes and deserts all sorted out can be like underwater balloon juggling. If instead, we got everyone to bring appetizers, canapes, cheesie bits and other such comestibles of the digital persuasion, it won't matter whether they are organised, plus, since its all finger food, there's no dishes to wash up, plus plus, apetizers are more conducive to milling about with a bevie in the other hand. ( Not necessarily a fizzie lager either! )
We could add one rule though, something like; Nothing you can buy at 7/11. or ; Only something you made or could have made.... No forget that last one. I can't make chocolate. We need chocolate for aftertisers.

Yeah sounds good. I don't eat much you have to cut with a knife and fork being vegetarian anyways. Except cheese, that requires a knife and oh I love it ever so much. but thats beside the point. Yeah, anything you want to bring is cool. I won't restrict it to appetizers and things of the sort but they are certainly welcome. Salads of sorts can also work very well. Alright, i'm hungry now.

Alright, after chatting a bit with delicanuck I am sold on the idea of just appetizers. Its quick, its easy and it is a great way to get to know everyone. A full on pot luck is a little tough to organize especially considering location. So, how about everyone bring something thats not too hard to eat, and can be shared by lots of people.

I've got a fairly decent handle on a spinach dip, in a bread bowl no less. But i'll figure something else out too don't worry.

so, throw out your ideas if you want, or just bring what you want. If we all bring the same thing it really just means we all like the same thing right?

BYOB, and some extra to exchange for information haha. I doubt there will be a shortage of drinks.

Remember, block ice lasts longer but doesn't cool drinks as fast, its a tough decision but we all have to make it.

Its just about time... everybody ready? Got something to bring?

I'm trying with this food situation, doesn't seem to be much interest. If you don't want to bring something to share then bring something for yourself.

Well I'm ready!

I've got a pot luck plan sorted out. And it has nothing to do with the big March Madness sale at M&M Meats. And by the way, for those of you who are iffy on the pot luck plan...
MARCH MADNESS SALE at M&M MEATS!
Go grab a tray of something that you can fry or dutch roast. Bring a roll of tin foil. I'll help you get it hot if your stumped. We'll figure something out. And don't forget! There are some vegetarians in the crowd! In fact, I'll be serving some vegetarian!
