Josh has kindly suggested to me that an e-mail "fan out" for this meet would be in order. I agree, given the importance as evidenced by the number of posts in this thread! Also, I'll create a new category for threads relating to "Delica Meet 2007" (including this one).
I would want any e-mail notice to reflect the most "cutting edge" information currently available on this event (date & time, location, etc). It would also be great if we could appoint a CEO to spearhead this event (any takers?)
From the posts in this thread, it looks to me like Pemberton is the likely location, and that March 30 to April 1 is the most likely date range. Do I have this right?
Cheers!

you are correct on the dates and location. I have no problem taking on this project as i'm not very busy and always online, but I figure it will more be the distribution of information rather than making any decisions, I think that should be done by everyone. If anyone with more knowledge about the terrain wants to step up thats fine too.
I believe the plan so far was to drive out to harrison, then all the way to pemberton on the back roads. Is this correct? or possible at least?
I can start a group email list, everyone just email me if you want to be on the list

I can forward the lsit to anyone who wants to take it on.

Thanks Adrock -- I can also use the "master list" (the e-mail addresses collected at the time of site registration) for a general e-mail fan-out. In this day and age due to spam concerns, I'm hesitant to do mass mailouts. However for this type of an annual event I feel that all members should be kept informed...

Looks like we're game for that time period. We should start planning a bit of an itinerary. I'm thinking we meet out at the hot springs and spend the night. From there we drive north and camp somewhere towards Lillooet. Next day drive to Pemberton and do a final night there. That's three nights total. We could probably shrink that to two nights if time is an issue but I'd rather make more of a trip out of it given the number of Delis that might make it. I have a good backroads map of BC and could help plan the mileage/time end of it. We candeligate the other planning into a few groups if that would make it easier. Grey Leader, standing by.

Biozach,
Skookumchuck Hotsprings is a real easy drive down the logging road. Took a two wheel drive ford escort there 2 yrs ago. Its a nice campground right the river, i think $10 a night... the hot springs and cold springs are included in that cost... just a few tubs in the woods. A fun spot, wouldn't take any effort to get there though. So it all depends on what we are going for. I bet it won't be busy at all that time of year, probably even snow still on the ground. But we would have to find something more adventerous also...

Bruce,
If you come over to the island you're more than welcome to spend a couple of days at my place in Fanny Bay (more that one Brit has come just to take a picture of the village sign!!!). We have a huge home on the ocean with tons of room, so you're more than welcome. I'll also try to to make it to the meet if I have the time.
Cheers
Andy (ex-pat)

yeah my route from harrison north would NOT be thru lillooet... it will be all melow dirt road with some 4x4'n, it follows the west side of harrison lk to an abandoned logging camp and would include skookumchuck hotsprings.. this camp has become very popular over the years and is quite over-crowded (even this time of year) which is unfortunate. I also have heard that as of March that site is being re-claimed by Natives in a land deal. (anyones guess what happens then) I do know of 2 other hotsprings in that area and I belive there are some 4x4 climbs off the road up on the east side of hemlock ski hill (if anyone has any experience let me know) may still be snow up higher...
it would be a good idea to bring a 2-way radio for each delica so we can all communicate while driving.
Mitch
any other ideas?

The huge house on the ocean is certainly quite an offer (and one that I simply cannot refuse! :D ) - but it is the opportunity to stay at a place called "Fanny Bay" that sealed the deal for me! 8) 8)
If somewhere in the UK had that name, it would probably become the top spot for 'village sign' snapshots  (alongside Twat in Scotland )
Seriously though - I really appreciate the offer and will definately be adding Fanny Bay to my route. Thanks for allowing me to crash....el mucho appreciated... :D :D
I'll be PM'ing people soon to make arrangements if that is OK??
The meet itself is looking like quite a winner.... 8)
Well done guys and thanks again,
Bruce.
