Sat 18 June 2011 – CVI Appreciation Day - Meet+Fix+Learn+Eat
18 June 2011 CVI Appreciation Day Meet+Fix+Learn+Eat. Saturday 10 to 3 pm.
Everyone welcome (even if you havent got your Delica yet) as CVI services all sorts of vehicles.
It's the 4th Annual CVI Customer Appreciation Day.
Mark your calendars now, (Fathers Day is the following day).
Information Sharing and Friendship and Good Food as usual. We will have a delica or 2 on the hoists, we watch and learn as Butch gives us a guided tour for where each part is, and especially what owner maintenance each of should do ourselves. We all snoop around each others delicii, admiring their mods, and putting faces to online names. Question and answer times.
See the specialized machines: the tire repair machine; the brake fluid flusher; the brake rotor grinder; and the wonderful CVI sonic cleaning and adjusting injectors machines. All that stuff that we don't usually see.
The CVI family will supply wonderful food as usual: BBQ hot dogs and burgers, munchies, pop, and yummy desserts.
Will post an RSVP poll closer to the date, to know the numbers expected so we all get food.
Christy, Butch's daughter will be doing the organizing at CVI. Normally the shop is not open on Weekends, this day is just for our get-together.
Out of Towners welcome, first reserved get to stay at the TardisDeli home, I will find places for others to stay with other friendly delica folk.
See you there, Cheers, Christine.
EDIT:
Location is Richmond BC, just beside Vancouver.

Re: Sat 18 June 2011 – CVI Appreciation Day - Meet+Fix+Learn
I would love to be there, but I would most likely have to secure a ride or someone to carpool with, as my gas is expensive & money is tight... I have no job at the moment Is there anyone who will be passing thru to go up to Richmond & could help me get there? I don't want to be a burden, & would find a way to pay back ASAP, maybe provide a place for someone to stay on their way through Washington?
Thanks,
Daniel
Thanks,
Daniel

Hi Deli-Friends,
I have edited the info, added the location (Richmond, beside Vancouver).
Viajeros, welcome, hope to see you there. We can set you up with your deli-meet whenever you get here, and of course we will find you deli-friends to stay with (and visit on your travels through Canada).
DelicaDJ, from Marysville, Washington. Would love to see you there. How can we help you get here? I can easily pick you up in Bellingham or at the border, and you can stay overnight before/after with us, but sounds like you need a ride from home, which google says is about 100km from border.
Who wants a little drive to Marysville, Washington (it is before Everett) on the I-5. To Pick up DelicaDj to bring him to his first Deli-Meet? Good Delica Karma.
Christine.

Thank you, Christine! The offer is greatly appreciated, & I will be looking forward to meeting the crew & their vans! I am excited to be able to join you in this, & disappointed that I can't yet get my own van South of the border!
I can provide the address to anyone willing to pick me up! My house is just off the 200 exit, down 88th street past the RR tracks

Not the best date for the event as it is conflicting with the previously proposed meet: http://www.delica.ca/forum/pemberton-me ... =pemberton.

As for the Pemberton conflict. Why not have a BBQ at CVI and in the afternoon a convoy to Pemberton. Stay there over night and come back on Sun night?

OOPS, really sorry for the Pemberton conflict, definitely wish it could have been another day, as Profister always has such interesting places on his trips. Butch does the CVI Event as part of his family's father's day celebrations to remember his father (whose initials are C.V.I.) who founded the ATI/CVI company. Regards, Christine.

Hi Christine,
We will be there! We don't have a Delica yet (yes, the wife still needs convincing, unfortunately) but at least I got her to agree to go with me (we'll probably bring the kids along as well) to this event. I'm hoping that with so many there, we'll get to see a good cross-section and she'll better be able to see how it fits her and the girls.
For me, I am very interested in looking at the mechanical aspects of these vans. I made a big mistake buying the Astrovan as even simple spark plug changes are a bloody nightmare on this. At least with the Delica...no spark plugs eh.

This could be avoided if we had a calendar.TardisDeli wrote:OOPS, really sorry for the Pemberton conflict, definitely wish it could have been another day, as Profister always has such interesting places on his trips. not sure...
if my friday had happened the way i thought i would say definately *yes*. however, due to the lack of competance with the hospital here, i might have to say no to this.
