Welcome to Delica.ca's New Server!
Welcome to Delica.ca's New Server!
(well, the site might not look different, but you are actually now on a different site.)
Please note that ALL postings in the old database since 2:00PM November 25 were lost due to this DNS change.
Lets keep an eye on things, and please let me know if you encounter any server-related burps or hickups over the next few days!
Thank you all for your patience during this relocation.

Re: Welcome to Delica.ca's New Server!
Well, looks like the new DNS settings are resolving for most people (I tried a shaw connection and a Telus connection, and both seem now to be pointing to the new server).
Just a reminder that messages left after 2:00PM may have been "lost" (for the 4-6 hour window).
If you posted anything urgent (or sent a PM during this period), there is a good chance that you will need to resubmit/resend.

Agreed with that, great website! Hoping to be posting here more often in the future. Some great resources to read about.

Re: Welcome to Delica.ca's New Server!
Thanks everybody! It seems that the server "migration" went well. I will now "unsticky" this thread, as it seems that everybody's managed to break on through to the other side...

thanks for the effort

Re: Welcome to Delica.ca's New Server!
Thanks for all of your work on this site!!
I have noticed that my email subscription updates have not been coming to me since Wednesday, I checked and I am still subscribed to receive the updates. If you could let me know what's up that would be great!
Another question....who is paying for this space? do we make collections at the varios deli meets or is this webspace free? If we are paying how can I contribute as this forum is a great resource for Deli owners!!!
Thanks!!
Andrei

Re: Welcome to Delica.ca's New Server!
Thanks Andrei -- I will do some testing on the e-mail subscriptions front, and see whether I can replicate the issue (and if so hopefully find a quick fix).
Has anybody else had troubles with this e-mail subscription issue?
Regarding the financing of server costs, there is really no need at this time to "pass the collections hat" -- server space is quite cheap, and is more-or-less covered by the small amount of ad revenue (some months the site makes $20; others it loses $20).

Re: Welcome to Delica.ca's New Server!
No subscription issue, but I do have one more odd-ball issue, not specific to the new site though, as the old one was the same.
If a thread is "stickied" and I'm watching it, and someone replies to it, I click on the new posts icon for that thread, or click on the link emailed to me, it comes up as "topic doesn't exist" I have to instead find the topic itself and click on the heading and scroll from the first post, instead of being able to go straight to the first unread post.
If the same thread becomes unstickied (like this one) everything starts to work properly again.

X2, that is for threads that are global stickies.

Re: Welcome to Delica.ca's New Server!
Sorry to anybody who experienced a "Bandwidth Exceeded" message this evening!
When I completed the server migration, I failed to allocate sufficient bandwidth to the site (now fixed)!
