No longer logged in?
Anybody else notice that the board doesn't recognise you as logged in while you're typing a response? I mean, I read a thread, see something I want to comment on, hit reply, start typing, hit submit (and this is WELL before 10 or 15 minutes), and the board takes me to the login prompt. Anybody else having this happen?

Re: No longer logged in?
Hello,
Ya I get bumped off sometimes,
and regretably I am an awful slow typer.
I have lost a few somewhat large post,
my Centrufuge one I lost and had to go do it again.
I was quite pissed off I must say.
It seems to vary in time but at some point I usually get logged out.
I have just made a habit of a right click and copy all text ,just before I submit so I don't have a preventable spaz out.
I don't know what controls you single button Mac phreaks
use but ,there is an easy "copy" function I am sure it's better stable and all that usual Mac-ness,I know and don't need to hear it.
Right on!

Re: No longer logged in?
It is not a bug, it is a feature . Make your post ready in Notepad first if you do not want to loose it and retype after.

No, I realise it is supposed to log you out if a certain amount of time has elapsed, but it has been as little as how long it took to type this.Profister wrote:It is not a bug, it is a feature . Make your post ready in Notepad first if you do not want to loose it and retype after.

Re: No longer logged in?
Has happenedd to me on more than one occasion. Only on my Mac though. The PC seems to keep me logged in.

Re: No longer logged in?
So does that mean that the reason I never have any issues at all is because I use Linux? ;)kb&2dogs wrote:WHAT????? Something that PC does better than Mac??? Whodathunkit?
In all seriousness, I haven't seen a login prompt on this forum on either my linux box, or my work windows machine in many months, I told it to keep me logged in, and it does.

Have you considered taking typing lessons? I haven't been booted just yet unless I am typing an opus, in which case I just save my work onto a note pad.mararmeisto wrote:No, I realise it is supposed to log you out if a certain amount of time has elapsed, but it has been as little as how long it took to type this.Profister wrote:It is not a bug, it is a feature . Falco.
Sent from my smart pad, using a pen.

Re: No longer logged in?
for issues like this you should probably state your browser, version and probably OS as well, as all of these things can/will effect these things :)

Re: No longer logged in?
I often get knocked off around midnight to 1am, when I reply to emails. It's not my anti-virus or any other timed event on my pc, running windows xp pro, windows office, usually no other programmes open, and doesnt happen in daytime when doing long emails. Yup, now I click copy Ctrl+C on the email before posting. Christine.
