I was wondering if it would be possible to change the Topic headings in the Delicas For Sale sections to look something like this ***SOLD*** - 1991 Delica Exceed when a vehicle has been sold? This way someone doesn't have their hopes up and then realize on page 3 that the Delica has been sold... Anyways, it's just an idea. I suppose the same could be said for parts for sale too.

Re: SOLD Delicas
it's easy enough for the original poster to edit their post to do that... problem is, most people don't bother... doubt there's anything the forum can do to fix that...
The only thing I can suggest is to make the "for sale" sections have an expiry of say 3 weeks on them, if the vehicle/part is still for sale after that time the person can easily re-list it, but if they don't touch it it will vanish on it's own.

Re: SOLD Delicas
Hmmm --
One difficulty with "auto-pruning" threads is that this site's record of past delica listings (even though expired) may be valuable to some -- for example, if a prospective Delica shopper wants to evaluate whether or not a current asking price is in line with past sales. For this reason, I hesitate to automatically purge the past listings.
Another problem with "auto-pruning" relates to the "dead links" that this creates -- oftentimes one post on this forum will point to others. If the target post has been pruned, this creates an ERROR 404 (File not found) -- annoying from a site user perspective, and also can lead to penalties from search engines.
My preference would be if folks followed Aaron's suggestion -- marking sold vehicle theads with a ***SOLD*** flag. However, as Green1 notes this requires abit of extra initiative from the owner of the listing (probably won't happen 100% of the time).

Re: SOLD Delicas
I agree with Mark that the sold Delicas are a useful resource to see what prices people are asking for Delicas. I'd hate to see people just delete their posts entirely once their Deli is sold. I'm sure if a few Delica For Sale posts turn to "SOLD...", the trend may catch on.
