From Hermione to Emma...
Well, I couldn't justify the added cost of maintenance and fuel of another Delica, nor could I handle the work of getting a stock Delica modified to my liking, so unfortunately I've moved to the dark side. Keeping with my love of Japanese vehicles, I now have a 2011 Acura CSX. I'm hoping to buy another L300 once I have property to keep it on, and work on it as a project vehicle. It's amazing how much you can lose even when you're not at fault in a collision.

Re: From Hermione to Emma...
In the early 1990s Bob Rae and his NDP party were pushing for "no fault insurance" but I've noticed since then that it's quietly been implemented across the country. We left Ontario in part because of the weird initiatives being discussed back then.
Now though even when you're not at fault you're classified as a higher risk, your rates go up, etc. My wife was in a couple of fender benders.
No one is keeping watch on the auto insurance industry in my opinion.

It'll be difficult to carry a load of 2x4's in the acura but I expect at least a ski rack soon.

Re: From Hermione to Emma...
My insurance hasn't been affected luckily, but that's pretty weird to hear.
I will be adding a roof rack with my old Thule box, some company decals, LED lights, a hitch (I'm going to see if someone will install a 2" receiver - possibly 3 receiver) and eventually some red rims. I will probably do a few cheap personalizing modifications as well that have yet to be determined. Regarding the 2x4's, I can actually fit a few in there, but I also got the CSX because it can tow my trailer lightly loaded and it was $10,000 less than a new Golf TDI, which can tow my trailer fully loaded. I'll use my savings to rent a truck for the rare occasions when I need to pull that much. I also liked the interior of the CSX a lot more. It's a big difference from the van and definitely not as cool, but hopefully I can have another (maybe a D5) once I have the room for a project vehicle or two.

Re: From Hermione to Emma...
Thanks! I feel like I can afford to do more road-trips now, but in the future I dream of an EvoX to replace the Acura, a Delica L300 kitted out to be a road princess and a Nissan Patrol shorty set-up for serious off-roading. If I get rich I may add a Nissan GTR, and if I get REALLY rich, a Pagani Zonda F Roadster.macro wrote:Looks good man! Riding in smooth, quiet comfort, with power and handling? Pfffffffft!!! Re: From Hermione to Emma...
So sorry to hear your bus got wrecked! Bummer man. Hope you like that new ride and do manage to get yourself into a new L300 sometime in the not too distant future.
Cheers

Happy Day!
