Lifted Delica L400
Hi fellas. I had a thread about my lift on the mods section, but decided to make a new thread where I could post pics from beginning to current and keep it updated. Some pics:
When I first got her, sitting next to my RX-7:
A nice day with a little off-roading near the beach:
After the recent lift kit:
And finally a before and after prior to the JAOS bull bar:
I would appreciate some opinions on the bullbar. I don't know if I prefer the factory one. I've posted these on the MDOCUK site as well.

I think I like the look of the Factory bullbar better, but the aftermarket one is clearly more functional for deflecting brush.
Did you have to regear? What size of tires are those?

The tires are 34" X 14.5" R16, so no regearing necessary. I've read that only 35" and above requires regearing.

Yeah, it's not growing on me so far...
I'll be picking up a JAOS skid plate next week and if it's not compatible the factory bull bar will go back on for sure.

Re: Lifted Delica L400
Well, after some time I decided I liked the factory bull bar better. Here she is back in proper form. I added the aluminum sump guard too. I know it's not preferred to the steel ones, but this will do until I have a steel one fabricated.

Re: Lifted Delica L400
Wayne, before the lift I was averaging about 430 miles per tank on an 18 gallon tank. The size of the tires after the lift has made my odometer/speedometer inaccurate, so i dont know what I'm getting now. Hope that helps.

That's about the same as my 4 cyl gas engine. Time to trade up I think.
Try using a GPS to convert your speedo. I do that every time I put on different tires.
thanks

Re: Lifted Delica L400
My neighbor has a 4 cyl gas delica. I didn't know they existed until he stopped by the other day and asked why I had 6 plug wires, haha.
Is there a procedure to adjust the speedo sensor?
Quick funny story about speedos: was cycling with a nice but kind of dumb guy once. After blazing down a giant hill I mentioned, "I wish I had brought my speedo." Him and his buddy looked at me like I was from outer space and he asked: "why the heck would you wear a speedo when you're cycling?"
I was referring to a speed monitoring device, he thought I was talking about skimpy male swimwear.

Awww!! Hahahaha, actually, I'm not the biggest fan of mine either, only because it seems to be for show only, not much substance. When it comes off, it'll be to put a winch bumper on. I just have to learn to weld first...waynesan76 wrote:Yeah, it's not growing on me so far...

No speedo adjustment available , just another test of your memory as you drive down the road trying to convert to your present tire speed.
1997 seems to be the last year of the 4 cylinder gas engine in 4wd delicas. I had hoped Mitsu might increase the engine horsepower but.... It's still got more highway power than the diesels but want more power.....
