Hello all!
I picked up my 2002 3.0L V6 SWB Delica in Calgary back in August but I'm just getting around to the forum community now.
It was a swift decision-making process from the time we spotted her on Kijiji to viewing her, then thinking about it for a couple nights, then driving back to Calgary for the transaction. Although I can see myself making good use of the extra length in a LWB, I didn't know there was such an option when I bought her and I'm sure I'll eventually get myself into a tight maneuver where the SWB will really shine!
We've already put a couple thousands kms on her and spent a few nights under her shelter -- and looking forward to many, many more! I plan to do a full conversion on her this spring, so I may be seeking some advice from this lovely community!
(I'll post some pictures once I find the right device!)
Cheers!
Andre & Stef

So... this is an extremely late update, but... I've got pictures! Yay!
The van started out clean and simple, then I gutted it, installed underlay and flooring, insulated all the body panels with Rockwool, and built a slide-out bed and counter with sink and cabinets. Camperization done! (I've since put on some finishing details from what's in the two pics.)
I then installed a Rhino roof rack with 3 crossbars, modded a roof-top cargo box to open on the left side, and installed a 150W solar panel to power my Goal Zero Yeti 400. The ARB 8x8ft awning which has been AWESOME!
Just before last hunting season I installed a trailer hitch from Rising Sun imports -- I've carried a deer on a cargo carrier, two bikes on a rack, and pulled a small trailer occasionally (not all the same time, of course ). The Air Lift rear air springs were a nice upgrade, softening the rear end and increasing the max tongue weight.
I also installed a Pioneer amp and upgraded the front door speakers. Advanced Auto Security in Calgary installed a 2-way alarm (tight on cash at the time for the starter, too). The owner there is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and competent in car electronics! Highly recommended.
Admittedly, I've not been active in posting on these forums but I have been reading quite a bit and received lots of guidance from here! It is my turn to give back to the community now, and I'd be glad to try to answer any questions or share whatever knowledge I've acquired on these beautiful machines.

Looks awesome! I have a 2002 gasser on the way to Calgary from Japan as we speak. I'm looking to do a similar roof platform setup, and some of the other mods sound like great ideas. Where did you get the roof box, and how big is it?
