A Bus for the Rest of Us

Post by Morganizer »

Hi, I bought an L300 P2 (low roof) 4WD a few weeks ago, and gave it a good scrub and shine.

Just getting a few things sorted out:

- roof racks for my hang glider
- a bed in the back for camping
- replaced the headlights with DOT standard but not happy (more on that in Mechanical Issues)

Other than that a few queaks and rattles, but generally pretty happy.

Too bad about the headlight's not being what you expected. I won't tell anyone about the illegal tailights.

Thanks. Yeah, I'm good a cleaning things. A handy skill, I must say.

The tail lights too? Will you tell me about that? Is there some Web site that gives a run-down of what's supposed to be done upon importing a Delica? The previous owner did the 100,000km maintenance, so I figure it's up to me to take care of the compliance issues. (and the first owner in Canada is still at large *&$#$%!)

Those are aftermarket tailights, I just bought some from the uk. I wouldn't worry about them though, it's only the cover that's changed (white lense with red bulb for the indicator instead of yellow lense with clear bulb.

Wait, wait...I've got clear lenses for my turn signals with yellow bulbs, and red lenses (faded) with clear bulbs for my stop/tail lights. These are aftermarket?

I've seen tail light housings for sale with yellow lenses. They look better IMHO, but they're listed as 1987-1992, and this Delica is a 1994. Is there any difference? Will they fit?
