Just bought (today!) an automatic diesel 1999 Delica L300 GLX Exceed with a low roof and 86,000kms. Bought an original roof tray that's getting put on before I pick it up tomorrow. Looking to get a ladder and then figure out the best set up for small road trips (few days to a couple weeks) surfing, snowboarding, rock climbing,... I'm thinking of getting a roof pop up tent but am undecided. Suggestions?

Sweet van! It'll be nice to have another all-black L300 kicking around the lower mainland. See you on the road!

Hey, nice looking van. Welcome to the wonderful world of Delica P25's, the perfect vehicle for enjoying the outdoors in BC. I've camped in some beautiful places, up logging roads made of rocks the size of your head, and the Delica scrambles up without a quibble.

If you have a lot of activity gear, it will get very crowded (and inevitably messy) sleeping in the van. You may prefer to pitch a tent, or come up with an arrangement that makes use of the tailgate in the raised position. I have no experience of rooftop tents, but I imagine every time you roll over, the van goes WOOGA WOOGA WOOGA until the suspension settles. That would keep me awake.
