Model designations regarding roof and tranny q

Post by Incantation »

Hi guys,

Newb here.. have experience importing cars from Japan but never a Delica.. currently shopping for one. Had a look through the search button and wasn't able to find the answer.

Simple question.. which delica designation denotes the glass roof with the 4 retractable panels?

Also, while browsing models on my auction site, the transmissions are sometimes listed as:
-C5
-AT
-CAT
-FAT

Can someone clarify these for me? I understand that C5 is manual and AT is auto tranny.. but the F and C denote what?

Any help is much appreciated.. thank you.

From what I've read (but never imported, so take it with a grain of salt), C is Console and F is Floor; i.e. my Auto L400 is CAT (shifter on the steering console), while F5 is a floor-shifting 5-speed, and FAT is a floor-shifting Auto like an L300 or Safari.

I've never heard of C5 before.
