SOLD!!!!!!!91 Exced with 33,000 Km's, turbo diesel, 4x4, Manual Transmission, regular high roof, captains chairs, will provide Japanese auction paper showing condition rate of 4, will also provide all service records (Japanese), 4 New Goodyear Wrangler tires 235/75/R15, Oil and filter changed. Over 80% left on brake pads. This Deli is clean and ready for action.
I know there are cheaper, but ask for a copy of the auction paper and service records and see what reaction you get.
Price $10,700.

You likely won't see many delicas with auction papers.

I would guess most you see for sale through local dealers here are grade 3.0 /3.5

I would think auction papers would be standard.. the tricky one is service records... most vehicles come to north america with no records from prior to the auction, so the most you get is auction onwards.

The auction papers probably exist but almost all the Delicas in BC are 3.0 to 3.5, which people tend not to advertise or they are rated A or R "accident repaired" again which people are not made aware of. So I was just offering it up front.

I'm assuming "regular high roof" means no sunroof or crystal roof? And why are you selling?

Correct it does not have the skylights or sunroof. I, like alot of people, have imported a few personal vehicles from Grermany and more recently from Japan. I was thinking of doing this as a business but in recent light of the import laws being changed to 25 years, I have been discouraged go to any further. I have purchased a few vehicles including another Delica that is still in Japan. I worry that it won't make it here prior to any changes in the import laws. Cross my fingers that it arrives. I currently drive a Pajero and of course my beloved Delica.

Have the laws officially been changed now? or is it still up in the air till feb? I feel a little in the dark not having internet the past couple weeks. It is good to be back in touch.

I was told by a customs officer and a lady from head office of ICBC over 6 months ago that it will change. I posted that on another forum and people doubted and slammed me for saying it. Unfortunately the CBC article a month ago solidified that it is being seriously looked into by the goverment . I worry my other Delica won't make it before the second week of Febuary. I've heard others say that people are using the 25 year rule as a sales tatic, buy before it ends... the sky is falling... but I would imagine if the laws do change then the ones that have been grandfathered in would be worth alot more since they would no longer be available. Simple rules of supply and demand. Having said that my Delica is no longer for sale... I will sit on it untill Feb, and double the price! Now that would be shady. It is still for sale at $10,700

What would make you think the end of february is a deadline? So far as I know the entire subject is still under discussion/consultation, and no legislation has yet been proposed, let alone passed.

If the Federal Gov doesn't change it, BC Gov will probably introduce more restrictions to the their Provincial inspection making it impossible to import. I hope I'm wrong but the Customs officer was pretty convincing when he mentioned the rules are going to change. If I were reading a thread on the internet, I may not believe it, but its because I heard first hand from 2 sources "insiders" is why I believe this going to happen. I hope I'm eating my words!

After reading that link it makes me really think that Transportation Canada must be being fueled by "Big Buisness" in the pursuit of changing the laws. Based on that report and the breakdown of it I wonder how they could truely save face by actually changing the law to 25yrs. Alas, they do what they do right?

Have we got a petition or a legal way to battle this process, or to at least voice the positive side of imports?

You can buy BLANK service reciepts and service log books at the auctions in japan. All you need do is roll back the clock and falsify the service records to match.

Sure they can, but the auction house has to maintain credibility by checking if the dash has been tampered. Not saying it can't happen but it seems pretty eleborate, maybe they are the same guys who assinated Kennedy.
