Injector Cleaner needed with WVO?

Post by Adam »

Do you think there is a greater need for adding an injector cleaner to the diesel or WVO tank if I'm running mainly on WVO. I'm worried there maybe times the the veg oil is not at ideal temp and it could lead to incomplete combustion and coking of the injectors. Would a cleaner help mitigate this? I'm installing a temp gauge on my return line next weekend to give me a more accurate picture of the veg oil temp. Right now I'm relaying on a BBQ digital thermometer clamped to the outside of the VegTherm Mega to tell me if the temp dips below 160F. I know this isn't the an accurate picture of the oil temp inside the vegtherm, but it's all I've got right now:-) Normally the outside vegtherm temp stays above 212F (the thermomete max), but it does dip sometimes as low as 160F. I'm not sure if this is because of a short in the wiring or because of high flow of cool oil.
